Kapas Turtle Valley

Kapas Turtle Valley or KTV is a small chalet based resort that is located at Kapas Island or Pulau Kapas. This island located at South China Sea is famed for its turquoise crystal clear sea water.    The resort is run by a South African family Nicholas and Nadia with a touch of friendly family hospitality.  This resort has a few bungalows and  only rooms and also a splendid sea facing wooden restaurant.  Kapas Turtle Valley is located the the edge of Pulau Kapas , thus it has it’s own beach and offers more privacy as compared to other resorts in Pulau Kapas. If you have no idea, Pulau Kapas is located at Marang, which is a little further south from Kuala Terengganu.

The accomodation is pretty simple and basic island living.  There are no airconditioner but the place gets chilly and windy in then night. Staffs are also friendly and helpful

 

Rooms

There are only 6 bungalows and 2 family bungalows at Kapas Turtle Valley. Rooms are wooden chalet equipped with fans , toilets and mosquito net.  Breakfast is provided with the rooms while you will have to order dinner in advance. You can also eat at other restaurants in the island. Mosquitos repellent is also provided by the resort.

Foods

Coming from culinary background, Nicholas and Nadia prepares Kapas Turtle Valley’s food which is easily the best in the island. The restaurant is open to outsider (lunch only) while dinner have to be pre ordered. There are plenty of beers too

Things to do

What’s better than doing nothing at this tropical resort. Relaxing or swimming the crystal clear ,turquoise water of Pulau Kapas. Guest can use facilities in the resort for free. There are canoes and snorkel which is available freely to guest. There are also a few hiking trails in Pulau Kapas.

Getting there

You can get to Kapas island by using Marang Jetty. You will have to book the resort in advance.  At the time of writing, only Suria link boat company provides services to Kapas Turtle Valley. It is possible to walk to KTV from Kapas Jetty however that would take quite a walk and climb. To get to Marang Jetty, you can either take public transport or drive yourself. There are plenty of parking space in Marang Jetty which cost around RM9 per night.
