Camping has been trending lately as a beginner, we may have problems with list of gear to pack when we go camping. Here are some camping essentials for beginners.

Things to Bring Camping

Here are the list of items to bring from most essential to least essential.

Tent

Obviously , you cannot go far with camping without a tent. These days, tent comes in many forms and brands. There are the cheapest budget reliable tent that you can find to most expansive brands such as Coleman and many more.  One tip, avoid buying tent that are too cheap as they are not reliable in the long run. The best reliable budget brand starts from DeerCreek ,  Bazoongi and the price goes high for brand such as Snow Peak and Coleman. As for tent wise, there are auto tent and manual tent.

Tarp

Tarp is a piece of linen, cloth covering your tent. This would protect your tent from rain and heat. Typically, some campers do not need a tarp if they have good and thick tents. However a tarp helps as camper will keep their tent clean. The rule of thumb to set tarp is to avoid any water accumulation in the tarp. Make sure water from the rain is channeled directly into the ground and not groundsheet.

Groundsheet

Groundsheet is to protect your tent from water , mud and so on. A thick and well layed groundsheet will protect your tent and let you have a good sleep overnight.  As a rule of thumb, groundsheet should be set small than tarp to avoid water accumulation.

Stove

There were times when firewood was only the way to cook during camping. These days, there are plenty of butane stove available at very reasonable price.

Pots and Pans

If you are cooking, you will need pot and pans. You can bring pots and pans from your kitchen or , you can also use those they are designed for camping. Typically, camping pots & pans are design to be light and sturdy, yet looking cool. They may cost a little more expansive.

Knife , Saw or Parang

This would be helpful if you are collecting firewoods from the forest. Weapon helps too if you are camping alone in the wild with wild animals.

Pocket Knife

Helps in situation when you need to cut anything. A knife in pocket definitely helps.

Torch Light

Torch light should be radiality available especially at the site that lacks of lights.

Camping Light 

These days,  you can use camping lights to light up your camping area or tent.

Ice box

Foods that is refrigerated should be kept in icebox. There are plenty of icebox choices in the market.

Food

Prepare yourself for a mixture of dry , cold and wet foods. Typically , dry foods are consumed last when your wet foods are all cooked. You will want to have easily cooked food for camping. Some examples are eggs, sausage , bacon , etc.  Canned foods are also good choice for camping.
