Sungai Tekala Recreational Forest

Taman Eko Rimba Sungai, or Sungai Tekala Waterfall is located at border of Semenyih, Hulu Langt and it is not too far away from the city of Kuala Lumpur. It is around 1 hour plus away south away, from the city center. To get here, you can drive south to Semenyih or Hulu langat area. Sungai Tekala is accessible both from Hulu Langat or Semenyih. There is also a beautiful Semenyih Water Dam which is located not too far away from Sungai Tekala.

The natural beautiful waterfall is suitable for family picnic. The stream is cold, clear and not too strong thus making it perfect for children too. This public park is managed by Jabatan Perhutanan Selangor . At the moment visitors are only allowed to picnic at the spot.  At the time of writing, the camping facilities has been closed to public. This place is also good for light hiking

There are parking spaces at the entrance of the park, however it can get a bit crowded especially during peak school holidays. The stream outside can be super crowded, to get nicer stream , you hike further where the views and water is splendid. There are also much lesser crowds if you hike further inwards. It would be great mini workout for family even for kids. Most of the pathways are cemented.

Bring plenty of foods as adults and children gets hungry fast due to the cold stream, the facilities here is not so great so do remember to pack your rubbish out. Barbeque and picnic is allowed at Sungai Tekala Recreational Forest
